What Is File System?
In computing, File System or FS is a process of organizing data to store and retrieve from various storage devices, such as a Hard disk, CD, DVD etc. Without a file system, data stored in storage devices would be like one large body of data without knowing where one ends and next begins.
Suppose if there are no sentence construction rules in the English language will you be able to understand “twitter find tutorial don’t FB You If share full me help on or channel this forget page my Tube Like to Subscribe and our you follow” – what I want to say? No?
Exactly Like this, Operating system won’t be able to understand how and where to store or retrieve data. So as like sentence construction rules in English is used to create a meaningful sentence, Filesystem is exactly played the same roll in computing and help OS to logically store and retrieve data in a meaningful way.
In the simplest form, a file system is a collection of stored file in a secondary storage device, where the file is a collection of information which is made by related data.
Files are further organized into Directories. Directories are like a drawer, for example, you can store varies notes, books, copybooks etc. of different subjects in a different drawer of an Almira. let's say you have 5 drawers, you stored all Mathematical Books, copybooks or notes in the first drawer, all related to Physics stored in the second drawer and so on. it will help you find any particular notes, book etc quickly.
By the way, if I correctly construct the sentence then it will be - “If you find this tutorial helpful don’t forget to share and Like our FB page, Subscribe my YouTube channel or follow me on twitter”.
