Confusion resolved !!!!!

The term Hacking is a process to gain unauthorized access to data in computer systems or networks by exploiting its weakness.
Most of the people think of the hacker as a computer vandal, with extraordinary skills and knowledge that allow them to hack into computer systems and access valuable information. Hackers are not computer criminals, where most people think so. Why? The media is responsible for this wrong assumption, most people who don’t know about this profession, build their opinions on what they are fed by the media. Media projected hackers to be computer vandals who break your account and thief money, damage your system files and information by breaking into servers, explore viruses and lot more. Its printed by renounced media in their newspaper, or news channels so people never think twice before making an opinion.

After reading this, I hope you will get a clear and basic idea of hacking.
People who break into systems with bad intention is called Cracker and what they perform is called Cracking. More specifically the term cracker describes a hacker who use their hacking skills and toolset for a destructive or offensive purpose such as disseminating viruses or performing Dos attacks to compromise or being down system and networks. These hackers or you can say crackers some time paid to damage corporate reputations or steal or reveal credit card information.
A security professional who is hired to find out the weakness of systems and networks so that they can prevent crackers is called hacker and what they perform is call hacking or ethical hacking.
Actually, both are doing hacking, but the intention is different, in short people with good intention is called hackers where with bad intention is called crackers.
The term ethical hacking describes the good intension behind any hacking. A security professional uses the same software tools and techniques as malicious hackers to find security weakness in the computer system or networks and apply the necessary fix or patch to prevent the malicious hacker from gaining access to the data.
Let me tell you one thing, this is a never-ending process, as new weakness is consistently being discovered in computer systems and patches are created by the software vendors to reduce the risk.
Traditionally, hackers ware computer geeks who know almost everything about computers hardware, software, and networks and were widely respected for their wide array of knowledge. Hackers know everything about the way an application or a software works.
