Networks
There are two aspects of setting up a network:
Hardware, used to connect the system together such as cable as network media, switch, hub, router etc.
Software, installed on the computer to allow them to communicate such as Network Operating system (NOS).
Once you have connected the cables to the hub/switch and the clients to the cables, then it is time to install a network operating system. NOS is responsible for providing services to clients on the networks.
Today widely used network operating systems are -
- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
- Novel NetWare
- Unix
